Technical
Built with Astro. I am tired of React and the weight of the modern frontend ecosystem—a blog does not need any of that. Astro felt like the right fit. A site that keeps pulling you back into the code is failing at its job—what matters is the writing, the thinking, and the ideas that accumulate over time. The infrastructure is a means, not a subject.
This site is deployed to Cloudflare Pages, images to Cloudflare R2. No server, no database—only static files served from the edge.
Editorial
No comment section policy
There is no comment section in my blog intentionally. I do not believe in debate as a mechanism for changing minds—only those who are already prepared to change will do so. Argument rarely moves people; it mostly confirms them. A comment section would create the appearance of dialogue without the substance of it, and I have no interest in that performance.
Languages
I write in both English and Korean. When a piece appears in both, neither is a translation of the other; each was written directly in its own language. The choice is sometimes deliberate—shaped by the intended audience—but not always. Sometimes it is simply a matter of mood. I hope to add more languages as I learn them—though for now, that feels like a dream still some years away.
To the reader
This is a space for my free thoughts—and leaving traces of it. You are not required to agree. Disagreement is anticipated, even welcomed—silently. What I ask instead is that you read carefully.
My writings are not to be understood by everyone, nor to be widely read. Accessibility is not a virtue I am chasing, and bestseller lists are not a measure I recognize. The distance, created by deliberate difficulty and continuous experiment, is where desire is produced—the virtue I am after.
