현대 사회에서는 어떤 기획·정책도 반(反)이 없는 테제는 본래적으로 성립하지 않는다. 세계-내-존재가 이미 이해와 해석의 장 속에서 항상적 긴장, 균열, 저항의 구조로 드러나는 현실 속에서 테제가 제기되는 순간, 그 테제는 스스로가 내포하고 있는 반(反)에 의해 자신이 투사된 세계적 장에서 필연적 저항을 맞이한다. 만일 어떤 권력자가 이 구조를 단순한 우연이 아닌 구조적 지반으로 인식한다면, 그는 사회공학적 기법, 심리의 기계적 동역학, 그리고 미디어적 기표작용에 정통함으로써 정반합의 변증법적 운동을 인위적이고 의도적인 방법으로 역설계하고자 할 것이다.
즉, 합(合)을 선취하여 이를 이 세계의 잠재적 향도로 은밀히 설정한 뒤, 그 합을 발생시키기 위해 필요한 테제를 역산해 산출하고, 그 테제가 자연스럽게 불러올 반(反)의 구조적 생성을 그저 관망하면 된다. 강력한 테제가 던져지는 만큼, 세계-내-존재들의 반발은 자동적으로, 거의 기계적으로 솟구칠 것이며, 그 충돌과 긴장의 정점에서 미리 설정된 합은 마치 사회적 합리성의 산물인 양 자연스레 등장한다. 그렇게 조작할 필요도 없이, 조작된 역사가 쓰이게 된다.
개별 입자의 상태를 정확히 측정할 수 없는 양자역학적 현실 속에서도 많은 입자가 모인 상태에서는 통계물리적 규칙성이 드러나듯이, 기법이 정교해질수록 세력은 반발을 제거하기보다는 이와 같은 통계물리적 사회공학적 기법에 따라 반발을 기획하고 예측하며, 자원화할 것이다. 이렇게 역설계된 정반합, 합정반은 반을 극복해야 목적을 달성할 수 있었던 기존의 수고를 제거해줄 뿐 아니라, 정과 반의 운동 그 자체가 권력을 지속시키는 장치로 기능하도록 탈바꿈시키는 편리함을 세력에게 제공한다. 뿐만 아니라, 이러한 설계가 가능해진 자는 정권이 교체되거나 권력이 이양되는 등의 변화가 생기더라도, 정과 반의 자리를 바꿔가며 자신에게 유리한 방향으로 처신하거나 자신은 직접적으로 나서지 않은 채로 원하는 세력의 지도자를 권력자로 내세우는 등 권력의 지도를 능히 조작할 수 있는 능력을 갖추게 될 것이다.
In modern society, no plan or policy can emerge as a thesis without its inherent antithesis. Because being-in-the-world is always already disclosed within a horizon of understanding and interpretation—a field structured by constant tension, fissure, and resistance—any thesis projected into this world necessarily encounters the resistance already inscribed within itself. If a power-holder recognizes this not as a contingent accident but as a structural ground, then he will, by mastering socio-engineering techniques, the mechanical dynamics of the psyche, and the semiotic operations of the media, attempt to reverse-engineer the dialectical movement of thesis–antithesis–synthesis in an artificial and intentional manner.
In other words, by preemptively positing the synthesis and secretly establishing it as the latent direction of the world, he need only work backward to calculate the thesis required to generate that synthesis, and then simply observe the structurally inevitable emergence of the antithesis that this thesis will naturally provoke. The stronger the thesis thrown into the world, the more automatically—almost mechanically—the backlash of being-in-the-world will surge forth; and at the apex of this clash and tension, the pre-orchestrated synthesis will appear as though it were the spontaneous product of social rationality. Without any need for overt manipulation, a manipulated history comes to be written.
Even in a quantum-mechanical reality where the precise state of individual particles cannot be measured, statistical regularities emerge once a sufficiently large number of particles are involved. Likewise, as these techniques become more sophisticated, power will no longer seek to eliminate resistance; instead, it will plan, predict, and exploit it as a resource according to these statistical-physical principles and socio-engineering methods. Such reverse-engineered dialectic—synthesis–thesis–antithesis—not only removes the old burden of overcoming the antithesis to achieve one’s aims, but transforms the very movement of thesis and antithesis into a mechanism that sustains power itself. Moreover, once such an architecture becomes possible, its architect gains the capacity to manipulate the entire cartography of power—switching the positions of thesis and antithesis as regimes change or authority shifts, or installing the desired faction’s leader as the ruler while never appearing on stage himself.
